OK……………after a few most peculiar months, stock is being delivered in a normal way and our suppliers are back to developing and delivering new products, as well as enhancing existing ones.

Now here’s a funny thing; for those of you who’ve been riding a long while (say 20 years plus), you’ll have seen the inevitable change in both age and type of rider. You’d think that, as it’ an older person’s sport, motorcycles in general would have become more sedate and slower, more lethargic and condescending, more placid and docile, and yet precisely the opposite has happened. They’re more exciting and dynamic than ever, more exciting to ride and crucially, far safer than ever before.

Strangely, for the better part, this can be said about motorcycle parts.

Having worked in motorcycles for 28 years and having ridden them for 30, I’ve seen the good, bad and the ugly in all the industry’s facets, but what’s truly astounding is that the quality of new products that our suppliers are producing more dynamic and better than ever (a lot of which we work with them to design, by the way). We’re all sticking two proverbial fingers up to convention, as bike builders become braver by the build, not to mention the fact that some of the products they demand as well as manipulate to fit are beyond exciting.

Why do I mention all this? Simple. We’ve had the cloud of Brexit and coronavirus over us for the last little while (and in the UK, more than these two issues, make no mistake), yet whilst these issues are still there, I’m hoping that we all still find solace in motorcycling, as if for no other reason, the industry finds solace in us as a nation buying product.

So, whoever you’re buying from, keep it up and keep building. After all, no-one really wants to look back at days gone by and wish that we took on and/or finished a project we knew we should have.
