EICMA 2026: What We Saw in Milan and What It Means for Your Next Ride

We're just back from EICMA, the giant international motorcycle show held every November at Fiera Milano in Milan. The 83rd edition was billed as the biggest yet, and after days of walking the halls, we believe it. If you want to know what's coming for 2027, Milan is where the industry shows its hand first.

The most varied line-up we've seen

The thing that struck us most was the sheer range. Superbikes, A2-friendly singles, big adventure tourers, retro cafe racers and adventure scooters were all sharing the spotlight.

Adventure bikes were everywhere, as you'd expect. Honda unveiled a completely redesigned Africa Twin, now 1,150cc and offered in three versions, with the Adventure Sports getting front and rear radar. Royal Enfield revealed the long-awaited Himalayan 750 alongside a Continental GT 750, and Triumph showed a new Tiger 1200.

It wasn't all big adventure bikes, though. BMW completed its F 450 family for A2 riders, Moto Guzzi broke with tradition with The Trip, its first parallel twin in over 40 years, and Honda's new Fireblade and CBR500R Four kept the sportsbike fans happy. Brands from India and China were out in force too, with Hero, BSA and others adding more choice at the affordable end.

For us, every one of those new bikes means riders looking for the right luggage, protection and fitting kits next spring.

New luggage from GIVI, SHAD and SW-Motech

As luggage specialists, the stands we really came for were the accessory brands. All three of our biggest names had something genuinely new to show.

GIVI led with XSpace, an expandable hard case that grows from 27 to 36 litres in one movement, without unpacking. Alongside it came Corium, a soft-bag range for classic, custom and cafe racer bikes, and the Easy17A, a 50-litre tail bag for nakeds and sports bikes.

SHAD's headline was the new Rackless system: universal soft luggage that straps to the bike with no side frames, giving up to 41 litres across two expandable side bags and an optional tail bag, all waterproof. SHAD also extended its crash bar range to the BMW F 900 GS, Honda Africa Twin and Transalp. Rackless is due in March 2027.

SW-Motech went off-road with PEAX, its own rackless system built for proper adventure riding. Two waterproof 20-litre side bags sit in tough Hypalon holsters, with top bags to add more. It was joined by the 65-litre TRAX ADV XL top case.

Two of the three biggest names launching rackless luggage in the same year tells you where the market is heading: lighter, simpler set-ups that fit more bikes.

Getting ready for the new season

We didn't just go to look. We spent time with the teams behind the brands we represent, talking through what's arriving, when, and which bikes it will fit.

Over the winter we'll be adding the new products to our website as soon as they're released, so you can order the right kit for your bike the day it lands. We're also building up fitting kits for the new 2027 models, so when you pick up your new bike in spring, the luggage and protection will be ready to go.

Want to see the latest luggage in person? Our Potters Bar showroom is full of it, and we're always happy to give honest advice on what will suit your bike and your riding.

If one of the new bikes from Milan is on your shopping list, get in touch and we'll help you plan the perfect set-up.
