OK, so we’re a few weeks into the madness now and I, along with you all, I’m sure, want it to end. Yes, the Bikeshed show has been cancelled. Big shame for them and us, as we were exhibiting there too, but not to worry, as there’s light at the end of the tunnel now and we’ve got plenty to be getting on with.

As for Alchemy Parts and the products we’re selling, it’s still business as usual. We’re still in every day and still distributing, and Royal Mail are still collecting from us as normal. By and large, customers haven’t had much if any of a delay in receiving goods sent and we’ve adjusted our Amazon store so that if you are a hardened Amazoner (if there is such a word), you can still order on it for us to send to you directly. What’s more, stock seems to be coming through from suppliers, again albeit taking a little longer than usual and more sporadically. At least it’s coming and is available, which is very good news.

When I speak to suppliers abroad, it’s rapidly getting back to normal business practice. Yes, some factories are still closed, but others are opening. This may in the future affect prices, as long-overdue regulation creeps in to the Far East, but our suppliers are a competitive bunch and realise that products need to be at a reasonable price point to survive. In short, I’m confident they’ll work it out (they always have in the past).

One piece of advice, if I may; if you’re compiling a list of products you want from our website, or any of our other channels (Ebay, Amazon, or calling through an order), please crack on and order when you can, not because this is a plea for you to spend now, but because stock levels this time of year do fluctuate a fair bit and coronavirus or not, you’d need a world war to stop a motorcyclist from buying what they need for their bikes! This will always reflect in our stock level.
