Prescott Bike Festival 2019
Earlier today, I rode through the properly pretty Cotswolds to the Prescott Bike Festival, which is not-only a motorcycle show with a tonne of stalls, but it’s also a National Custom Show and a round of the UK Custom Bike Championships. Needless to say, there was a high class and very eclectic mix of custom bikes, streetfighters, genial ingenuity and full-on weirdness, and we’re not just talking about a few bikes here and there; the tent area where you see our pictures taken must have been housing 70+ bikes.
Tomorrow (Sunday 16th June), there’s the Hill Climb, with all manner of classes of bikes aiming to set records. That’s worth seeing for its rarity value and the smell of 2-stroke fumes alone.
What I love about these shows, even more so than your more mainstream shows is that you’ll get a chance to see bikes that you’d never normally see, you’ll watch and hear them running – itself an honour, plus you’ll easily be able to speak to the guys who build and restore them. This is certain a show for the purist and is all the better for it.
All-in-all, a cracking place to visit and a great day out.
Thanks,
Roy
